As someone who loves Castiel as a character so very much - this was an embarrassing end for him. It was insulting. I never wanted him to die in the first place, he’s my 3rd fave character. But if he was going to die, I’d have wanted it to be with both brothers and Jack there. Sam and Jack meant just as much to Cas if not more. Cas literally said 3 eps ago that Jack was HIS REASON, HIS PURPOSE! How the fuck does that equal Dean?
This was the writers trying to appeal to those shippers and further making this show all about Dean. Cas didn’t even get to die as himself but as the other half of a ship.
